Remedial Education Internship
This internship is ideal for students who wish to build a career in special education or academic support. Interns engage with children having learning difficulties, participate in designing lesson plans, and understand how education can be made inclusive and effective.
What you'll learn:
Observership Program
A short-term, guided learning opportunity for students who want to build confidence and clarity. Interns sit in on sessions, participate in post-session discussions, and gradually begin assisting under supervision.
What it includes:
Long-Term Internship (Paid Opportunity)
This is our most intensive and growth-focused internship. It requires a minimum commitment of 6 months and is perfect for students looking to grow alongside real clinical and educational work. Interns are expected to work part-time alongside their studies and take on increasing responsibilities over time.
Structure:
Months 1–3
- Training, orientation, and closely guided practice
- Assistance in therapy sessions, remedial sessions, and school programs
- Regular feedback and structured supervision
Month 4 onwards
- Begins with a paid stipend
- More independent involvement in session planning and delivery
- Assisting in assessments, parent discussions, school visits
- Eligible for Letters of Recommendation and future opportunities with ManoCare

Yes! All applicants go through a short interview and screening so we can understand your interests, readiness, and learning goals. We want to ensure every intern thrives and feels aligned with the work we do at ManoCare.
Only the Long-Term Internship offers a stipend — starting after the first 3 months of training and observation. The Remedial and Observership internships are unpaid but offer deep learning and mentorship.
We expect a part-time commitment (few hours per day, 4–5 days a week) depending on your chosen program. Schedules are discussed and finalized during your interview.
Yes! In fact, many of our interns are students. The programs are designed to fit around academic commitments while still offering valuable hands-on learning.
Yes, interns receive a Certificate of Completion and are eligible for Letters of Recommendation based on attendance, commitment, and performance.
